Hi, I am Karen, the artist behind Canny Art Mosaics.
I am based in Linlithgow, Scotland, where I create unique mosaics by hand using recycled aluminium cans. I originally started working with traditional glass mosaics, but over time became interested in experimenting with recycled materials.
That experimenting eventually led me to aluminium cans. I loved the idea of taking something that would normally be thrown away and using the colours, lettering and patterns to create something different.
Today, my mosaics are created from recycled cans, cut and assembled by hand. I make everything from personalised pet portraits to Scottish-inspired artwork, wildlife, portraits and one-off designs.
Every piece is individually handmade, and no two are ever the same.

Irn-Bru cans are my favourite material to work with, with their distinctive orange, blue, silver and white colours featuring in many of my pieces. I also use other recycled aluminium cans such as Guinness, Tennents, depending on the colours and design.
